Area high school students enrolled in Wiregrass Tech’s Move On When Ready (MOWR) program recently had their eyes opened and ears tickled with the language of William Shakespeare. On Tuesday, April 18, Wiregrass hosted the Atlanta Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse. The actors with the traveling group performed, “Shakespeare: The Language that Shaped a World.” They shared a collection of Shakespeare’s most famous characters while simultaneously providing students with essential knowledge about the life of the world’s most beloved playwright, and his lasting impact on the language that we speak today. The group of performers explained the history of Shakespeare while breaking down the language into current terms.
MOWR English 1102 students from Fitzgerald High School, Irwin High School, Brooks County High School, and Berrien High School attended the performance.
