Wiregrass GOAL Winner Ryan Degner and Rick Perkins Instructor Darron Lanier represented the college well. The week in Atlanta was packed with fun, workshops, and opportunities to network. On Tuesday evening the top 9 finalists were named and Ryan Degner, a Welding student, was named as a top 9 finalist for the state title of GOAL Winner. After another round of interviews and giving his prepared speech on Wednesday morning, that evening Ryan was named the Technical College System of Georgia’s 2022 GOAL (Student of the Year) Winner. He was presented with a brand-new Kia car and will now represent Wiregrass and the State of Georgia as he promotes technical education.
